By using the Nightmare Nexus RP Discord bot or website ("the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You must be 18 years of age or older to use this service. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement. We rely on self-attestation (e.g. the "I agree" age confirmation in our application process) — we don't have a way to independently verify age, and we take no responsibility for a user who misrepresents theirs. If we discover a user is underage, their access is removed immediately and permanently, no warnings.

Nightmare Nexus RP provides AI-assisted collaborative roleplay through a Discord bot and a companion website. Some in-character replies are written entirely by AI (currently powered by Anthropic's Claude), not by a human. AI-generated content is fiction — it does not reflect the views, knowledge, or endorsement of server staff, and nothing an AI character says should be treated as real-world advice or fact.

Content is offered at two rating tiers, PG-13 and Mature — see our Rules page for what each allows. A hardcoded filter blocks sexualized content referencing minors on every tier, regardless of framing, and this cannot be argued around through roleplay.

You retain ownership of the original characters, personas, and writing you create. By posting it through the service, you grant us a license to store, display, and process it as needed to operate the features you're using (for example, showing your character page to other users, or feeding your scene history back into the AI so it stays consistent).

• Target, sexualize, or depict minors in any way, in any rating tier.
• Harass, dox, or target other users.
• Attempt to bypass, "jailbreak," or manipulate the AI's safety behavior.
• Evade a ban or shadow-ban using another account.
• Use the service to generate or distribute illegal content.
• Abuse or spam AI-triggering commands beyond normal use (rate limits apply and will escalate to enforcement).

Our community rules (including consent rules, PvP/siege rules, and the strike system) are part of these Terms — see the Rules page in full.

We may warn, mute, shadow-ban, suspend, or permanently remove any user's access to the bot, the website, or our Discord server, at our discretion, for violating these terms or our rules. Some enforcement (like shadow-bans on AI features) is applied silently as an anti-abuse measure. You can report a problematic AI reply with !report_ai or by opening a support ticket.

Some features may be gated behind a subscriber role in our Discord server. We do not currently process payments directly — subscription access is granted through Discord server roles. If that changes, these terms will be updated to reflect the payment provider and refund policy in use at that time.

Server-specific systems we built (for example, our race/mortality systems) are our original work. Media recorded from our events may be published by us even after a character or player has left the server, per our media-consent rules. You keep ownership of your own original characters and writing, subject to the license described above.

The service runs on top of Discord and uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI replies. Your use of the service means relevant message/scene content may be processed by these providers under their own terms. We're not responsible for their availability, policies, or outages.

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the bot will always be available, error-free, or that AI-generated content will always be appropriate, accurate, or free of mistakes — the safety filters reduce but do not eliminate risk. Use your judgment, and report anything that slips through.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nightmare Nexus RP and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including anything arising from AI-generated content or another user's conduct.

You can stop using the service, or leave our Discord server, at any time. Leaving the server automatically deletes your characters/personas. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, especially for violations of these terms or our rules.

A specific governing law and dispute-resolution process has not yet been finalized — this section will be completed once these terms receive formal legal review.

We may update these terms as the service changes or as legal review progresses. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
